NibNote

Catalog your fountain pens and inks with real swatches.

A tactile catalog for collectors — log every pen, nib, and ink; track what’s inked; compare swatches that don’t lie. We’re building it now. Add your name to the founding members.

A note from the ink shelf

You know the moment.

You’re standing at the ink shelf, phone out, squinting at a swatch photo you shot eight months ago on whatever paper was on the desk — and you still can’t tell if that teal is the one you already own. Twice. The pen you meant to flush three weeks ago is starting to crust. The spreadsheet hasn’t been opened since the day you made it.

The records exist; they’re just scattered. Screenshots in one folder, a half-filled sheet in another, and the pairing you swore you’d remember — which pen loved which ink — gone the moment you sat down to write.

NibNote keeps it in one place: the pens, the nibs, the inks, the pairings — with swatches recorded honestly, and a clear answer to “what’s inked right now?”

What we’re building

Every pen. Every ink. What’s inked, and what you’re hunting.

Four things, built for the way collectors actually keep records — not a productivity tool, a collector’s pleasure.

Catalog

Log every pen & nib

Brand, model, nib grind (EF / F / M / B / stub / flex), filling system (piston, c/c, eyedropper, vac), and the notes only you’d write. One catalog, every detail.

Swatches

Real ink swatches

Paint a swab or photograph it, then compare side by side. Tag shading, sheen, and shimmer so you stop buying the same teal three times.

Rotation

Inked & rotation tracker

Mark what’s loaded in which pen and when. A gentle nudge when it’s time to flush. Always know what’s inked — without opening a single drawer.

Wishlist

Wishlist

The bottles you’re hunting, with price notes and where you spotted them — instead of a graveyard of screenshots and open browser tabs.

Questions, answered honestly

Before you sign your name.

When does it launch?

We’re building NibNote now. Founding members on the waitlist get early access first — and a real say in what we build. We’ll write to you before anyone else the moment there’s something to try.

What do I get for signing up?

Early access ahead of launch, a founding member’s spot, and the occasional note as we build — questions we’re wrestling with, swatches we’re testing. No spam, and nothing to pay.

Can I import my spreadsheet later?

That’s the plan. If you’ve kept a sheet of pens or inks, we want bringing it in to be painless — not a retyping chore. Reply to our first email and show us your columns; it shapes how we build the importer.

Will swatches be real or stock colors?

Real. You record your own swatches — painted swabs or photos — not a generic color picker. Stock approximations lie; your paper, your ink, and your light don’t.

Do I need to paint swatches, or can I photograph them?

Either. Paint a swab card or snap a photo — both work. Plus adds side-by-side comparison so you can line up the near-identical ones and finally tell them apart.

Is it iOS, Android, or web?

We’re still settling the order. Tell us where you’d reach for it most when you join — at the desk, at the pen show, on the couch — and it genuinely steers what we build first.
